How big will the My World® keepsake be?

Our experienced designers will size your piece based upon how large the building appears to be in real life. We generally do not make pieces that are any taller than 7" or wider than 8", and we generally don't do much smaller than 3" tall or 4" wide, again depending upon the type of the building we are recreating. 3.5" tall by 6" wide is our approximate average size.

How long does it take for my order to be completed?

We ask that you allow 4-5 weeks for delivery of your My World® order.

Who takes the photo used to create the design?

You must provide your own photo for us to use. We do not come to your location to take photos.

There is a tree/obstruction blocking part of the building when I try to take an overall shot. What do I do?

Please include the overall shot with your order, but take close-up photos showing any areas that are obscured by trees, shadows, etc. If you would like any large trees incorporated into the design, let us know. Normally we will remove any large trees that might be in front of the building, limiting the landscaping to flowers, bushes, shrubs, and smaller trees. We will also remove any power lines/utility poles, etc., that might detract from your design.

Can I get an angled/perspective view of my building?

My World® keepsakes are produced with a "straight on" front view as the standard view. We can do a perspective (corner view) design, though there is an additional $70 art charge required for designs of this type. A photo showing the exact view desired is necessary for a perspective design - we can not create a perspective design by combining separate photos of the front and side of a building. Inadequate photos may delay your order.

Can I submit digital photos for a keepsake?

We can work from digital photos, though standard 35 mm prints generally give the best results in terms of detail and color accuracy. We require digital photos with resolution of at least 200-300 dpi (look for individual file sizes near 1-2 MB). Inadequate photos could delay your order. Digital photos can be mailed in on a CD or e-mailed to myworld@fjdesign.com. If e-mailing photos, be sure to include "Cat's Meow" or "My World" in the subject line. For best results when sending digital photos, include paint samples from a paint store for us to use when matching colors.
